Heat 3 quarts of vegetable, peanut, or canola oil to 450°F in a dutch oven or deep fryer.
Mix 1 cup of flour with 1 tbsp salt, ½ tsp baking powder, and ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper.
Pat 12 ice cubes with a kitchen towel to dry.
Lightly coat ice cubes in the flour mixture; be sure to shake off any excess flour.
Place all 12 floured ice cubes in a spider strainer or deep fryer basket. (No need to separate into batches—it's just ice, so they won't stick.)
Fry for 3–4 minutes, until browned and crispy.
Let cool for 5 minutes before consuming!
(Do not try this at home.)
